Something for ourselves...
So…. Some of you may or may not know, in May 2021 I had a complete hysterectomy (everything removed and on HRT for life) 5 weeks into recovery one of my father in laws passed away in Australia (we were lucky to have him in New Zealand for the whole time the borders where shut - he died very suddenly) We flew to Australia to attend his funeral and got stuck when the borders shut finally returning home 16 days later.
Like a lot of us (ok some will not admit it) we have been struggling with lockdown in Auckland now going on 11 weeks. Home-schooling, juggling, business, home life, kids and just everything else now.
This lockdown a friend challenge me to do the couch to 5km running program. She had to pull out due to injury, but I have carried on. It was to do something over lockdown and lose a few kilo’s from lockdown and surgery.
With the running programme you out start of just doing on minute of walking and one minute of joggling over 8 weeks, I have gradually increased my time running, this week I ran 30 minutes straight doing about 3.5kms – honestly not sure if I would call it running more like a slow jog, but hey I am doing it! That is what counts right??
With my business mentor each month we set business goals, but I have never set personal goals, this month I have changed that. With me being not in my best form my business does not grow, develop or I can’t be the best I can be to myself, my family, my clients, or my staff.
One thing I am doing is making time for myself in my weekly planning, that includes time on the treadmill or out running in our street! I hang out now for my time on the treadmill or my run. Besides running, I am always trying to find ways to get out on my motorbike, its been a long 22 weeks with no riding!
I want to challenge everyone, as woman take a lot of crap on, but we are number one and we must do something for ourselves.
I listened to this playlist today on spotify, it was a great motivator to keep me going, I found it great for running as well as ideas to keep pushing forward in business.
