First Blog Alert!!!

So I have decided to start a blog. Anyone that knows me well will know I HATE words and spelling, even though mum said I was good at spelling at school. I often get my there and theirs mixed up and my were and where as well. At least I am not like a friend that gets nibbles and nipples mixed up!
Anyway, I thought my first blog would be about me, who I am, and why I started my business many moons ago.
I am Jess. I reached that big age of 40 last year, I am married to Andrew and have 2 great kids, Caitlin 10, and Max 6. We live on a small rural lifestyle block 30 mins out of Auckland with 11 chickens, 14 lambs, 9 sheep, and a cat called Louie. Hubby and I bought our first business 12 years ago. I remember lying in bed thinking what have we done?! Did we do the right thing?? Honestly some days have been hard, but you know what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger? 12 years on, we are still married and have a successful business in the automotive industry.
About 5 years ago, on the advice of another well-known bookkeeper and a kick up the rear by our accountant that told me I was doing him out of a job, I started my own bookkeeping business. I took their advice and thought that I'd just keep it little with one or two clients. Ha ha was I wrong. 5 years down the track we have a successful bookkeeping business that suits my family’s needs and our lifestyle.
I am lucky enough that the clients we have are family people too, and get the fact that I help at school, attend days out with the kids and go on camp! PS. I am on camp in a few weeks. This is why I started my business all those moons ago. To spend time with kids, to enjoy them, yip we all know they are only little once, and they will grow up, and it’s not ‘cool’ for mum to attend trips and camp anymore.
Some random facts about me
Anyone that knows me, always knows the jug is on, the milk is in the fridge, just help yourself.
